I know the pieces fit 'cause I watched them fall away and I've done the math enuf to know the danger's of a second guessing.

Got any answers?

You can find answer to the following questions on Google Answers. But they will stop accepting new questions by the end of this week and new answers by end of 2006. It wasn't as successful as they expected. The reason? One word suffices - Wikipedia.

Anyways, have fun reading these -
How many tyrannosaurs in a gallon of gasoline?
Why flies survive a good microwaving?
Can you drink water from an Air Conditioner?
What's the answer of life ?
What's weird is that only about 800 people ended up answering
thousands and thousands of questions out there.

20,000 vehicles on the road

Last weekend of November - by far the busiest long weekend of the year. Not only in terms of shopping, long queues outside shopping complexes but in terms of 'Number of vehicles on the road'. Not an inch to move on the road, east coast was packed like there was a hurricane out there and all were trying to escape OR as if Aliens were invading the 3rd rock from the sun and all humanoids were trying to escape.

Ended up relaxing up there in the mountains : perfect getaway - 3 days. Peaks, Valleys, Roller coaster drives, Wild animals, Chill in the air, Rivers, Campgrounds, Trails, Tourists, Cabins - Shenandoah had them all.

La-Z-Boy, 52" flat screen, Fireplace, A million lamps, Antiques, Proximity to trekking grounds, Good scenic view, Amazing location - The cabin had them all. An interesting piece I found out there (amongst other funny stuff) was this lone warrior, fighting it out in the open ...

And here I was, fighting it out on the roads. Changing lanes and speeding at 25 on a 65 mph interstate.

Hope you had a Gr8 Turkey day weekend :)

Lefty or Righty ?

Are you ambidextrous ? No frankly, do you think that you could use your Left/Right hand for most (if not all) of your daily activities ? Here's some food for thought. How do you think you respond ?

Left or right ...
  1. While using the Shift key on ur keyboard
  2. To hang a bag (or a bag pack) on your shoulder
  3. While using the phone
  4. While using the space bar on a keyboard
  5. Preference given to Left/Right while dressing up/wearing your shoe/socks.
  6. To wear your timepiece
  7. 1st step while climbing stairs ?
Some say that left-handed people are more intelligent or creative than right handed people and a recent study shows that Lefties have the advantage in adversarial situations. But they say "Not only our language function, but even the way we see the world can depend on our handedness".

... so what did you figure out from the Se7en above? Lefty or Righty?

Evacuation Drills

"Towers x and y will have Fire/Emergency evacuation drills at 10:30 am today" read the sign near all escalators. Not my first time but then having done this before, I knew it was gonna be a 45minute - 1 hour affair. Good day for the drill I'd say, respite from the disturbing rain and temperture in mid 60s - felt like it was Summer again.
Stairwells can be claustrophobic - I tell ya. The stairs just went on and on and on and I realised that its so easy to trip and fall down, especially when there's trouble and all are in a hurry. Ha, were in for a surprise to find out where it took us - right next to the goddamn heavy-traffic street. As it is you'd be all psyched up running down and voila find yourselves next to vehicles speeding at 50-55 ... nggi !!
So, after climbing down like 1000 stairs for what felt like 12 hours, were asked to wait outside till everything cleared up inside (reset their alarm system or somethin). Its crazy when you have hundreds of employees all lined up chit-chatting about the elections, weather, thanksgiving plans, celtics, projects etc..etc..etc. And the rush towards the elevators/escalators when they gave the nod - oh man, it was worth a watch.
It was bound to happen, I mean imagine an escalator trying hard to function properly, carrying ~ 50 human beings !! It broke down. Geez - you shuda seen it come to a screeching halt. Then as if they were communicating with each other- the other one broke down. he he he - it was fun.
Eventually ended up climbing those friggin stairs. It was a nightmare for some, claustrophobic for some, fun for others but all in all an activity thats given importance and due attention in this part of the world. Can be scary - with all those emergency lights blinking, sirens blowing, people running here and there looking for the exit. Best thing is to stay cool; something which is easily said than done - especially in those circumstances.

I want to believe

No, this post is not in relation to what agent Fox Mulder used to say. It is about a fine Sunday morning that turned out to be a 'brain fight' between Mulder, Murphy and Yours truly.

Going against the usual, I decide to have Butter on Toast for breakfast. The consequences you ask -

U might have guessed it by now. It falls the buttered side down straight onto my bed leaving a square buttered patch on my bed sheet. Boy o Boy did I go crazy. Having spent some time cursing my bad habit of not using the dining table and cursing Murphy, I spend some time trying to find out the what/why and other W's of the myth "A slice of buttered bread, when dropped, will always land butter side down - Why? "

After doing a bit of homework I concluded that there are many factors influencing this so called 'phenomenon'. Gravity, Size of the Bread, Angle at which the bread initially leaves the starting position etc... etc. Scientists claim that they have figured it all. I mean with so much of ga ga over Toasts, Butter and Murphy - I'd be surprised if they hadn't conducted experiments. They did, and turns out that 29 times out of 50 the toast landed butter side up.

Maybe it falls the way it does
so that you'll know which side your butter is breaded on - he ha ho ....
