Am not sure if this has been the chant for long but I heard that the first time while Joseph Hashem was playing in the World Series of Poker (WSOP). Any hand that he won in that tournament - there were his supporters yelling .. Aussie Aussie Aussie .. Oye Oye Oye. Aussie Aussie .. Oye Oye. Aussie .. Oye Aussie Oye.
Later when he was called in for the Jay Leno show, he was like .. this chant has become common wherever Australia Plays now-a-days. A Good example is the ongoing Australian Open. Cant imagine that happening in Cricket though.
Talking about Australian open, some good tennis being played out there. Have been looking at some stats and there are 11 Russians women in the top 25 this year. 11 ? You gotta be kidding me. But then it's not a surprise ... they have dominated the game for about 2-3 years now. Pretty good players they are and gorgeous too ;-)

I have heard that chat in cricket too, but not on the field. I was watching some program where they were talking about fans and such. Don't remember this chant on the field.
What I do remember is 'Come on Aussie, Come on' song. -

Hmm haven't heard them sing that on the cric ground yet. But its a cool one they've come up with. Its high time for us to get 1 for ourselves, as against the " Jeetega Bhai Jeetega ... India Jeetega" lol.
Hey the Country Scorecard is something! Didn't know that before. Nice.
