* Jan 17th - NASA will launch the New Horizons spacecraft on its 1st mission to PLUTO.

* Mar 28th - Israeli Parliamentary Elections (probable date)
* Oct 24th - NASA's messenger spacecraft to MERCURY makes the first of two Venus flybys.
* Oct 26th - Diwali ( Hindu festival of lights)
